The Journey of moodcase

2020 was a year of challenges for many, but for us, it marked the beginning of a vision. With a simple idea in mind, Mike and I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey. Our goal was clear: to create a solution that would make everyday work easier for countless professionals in the photography industry.

The Humble Beginnings

The road to success wasn’t easy. It took an entire year before we welcomed our first 10 paying customers. With a monthly turnover of just CHF 200, we were far from turning a big profit. But every single customer felt like a victory. Each new signup was a testament to the value we were trying to bring to photographers, studios, and agencies.

Then came the real breakthrough. After another year of relentless hard work, constant improvements, and listening to user feedback, we reached the milestone of 100 customers. It was a dream come true, a mark we could only envision at the start.

More Than Just Numbers

While hitting these milestones was exciting, the most rewarding part of our journey has been the stories and feedback from our customers. Just yesterday, I had a conversation with a photographer who shared how moodcase had become an indispensable part of her workflow. “Without moodcase,” she told me, “I wouldn’t even know how to manage it. Open every single image in Photoshop to add comments and corrections? No thanks.”

Hearing feedback like this is what motivates us to get up every morning and continue pushing forward. It’s a reminder of why we developed moodcase in the first place: to simplify and streamline the work of photographers, helping them focus on their creativity rather than on cumbersome processes.

Relentless Focus on Improvement

From the very beginning, we knew that the only way to grow was to constantly evolve. We listened to our customers, integrated feedback, and continuously refined moodcase’s features. Whether it was adding powerful markup tools, integrating with industry-standard software like Lightroom and Capture One, or launching new features like video support, our aim has always been to provide a platform that meets the ever-changing needs of photographers and their clients.

Building the moodcase Family

What started as a simple idea has now blossomed into a growing “moodcase family.” Our journey is still in its early stages, and we are excited to see where it will take us next. With every new feature and every bit of feedback, we are building something bigger than just an online gallery. We are creating a community of photographers who value efficiency, collaboration, and creativity.

Conclusion

Our journey with moodcase has been one of hard work, persistence, and passion. It’s about more than just numbers or features – it’s about making life easier for photographers. As we continue to grow and develop moodcase, we remain committed to our original vision: to be an indispensable tool that streamlines workflow, fosters collaboration, and lets creativity shine.

Join us on this journey and see how moodcase can transform the way you work.
