Q3 2026
Q3 2026 extended how metadata travels with an image, what moodcase accepts and how projects stay organised. Custom metadata fields, alt text and metadata in resized downloads keep descriptions attached to the file, from upload to delivery. Fourteen additional file formats and a higher upload limit widened the range of files that move through moodcase in a single upload.
This entry also covers two changes from Q1 2026 that were not documented at the time: image licensing and AI tagging. Fewer fixed fields. More structure defined by the team.
Custom metadata fields
Available on Team plans. Custom metadata fields define a team's own metadata schema in moodcase Visual Asset Management, with typed fields, select options and schema management per account.
Fields are editable in the metadata panel, indexed for search and available as filters.
Alt text
Alt text is stored per image and describes its essential content for screen readers, search engines and other machine-readable contexts. Existing alt text from IPTC accessibility metadata is read from the file, and alt text is generated automatically where the field is empty.
Alt text stays with the asset through workflows, delivery and publication. SEO and accessibility texts are written once and travel with the image.
Metadata in resized images
Available on Team plans. Metadata maintained in moodcase is written into resized images at download. Titles, descriptions, keywords and alt text arrive in the delivered file without being entered again.
Location search and editing
Assets with coordinate data can be searched by radius, with the radius drawn on the map, distance options from 1 km upwards and the last selected location remembered between searches.
Coordinates are editable directly in the metadata panel. A location can be entered manually or set by clicking a position on the map.
Additional file formats
moodcase now accepts GIF, SVG, AI, EPS, INDD, IDML, ZIP, WebP, JFIF and M4V files, as well as WOFF, WOFF2, TTF and OTF fonts. Each format covers a specific step in the exchange between photographers, designers, agencies and clients.
Animated GIFs play in the gallery preview, the same way videos do
SVG logos and vector graphics are previewed like JPG and PNG files
Illustrator (AI) and EPS files upload alongside other logos and print artwork
InDesign files (INDD) and IDML exports can be uploaded and shared with agencies and clients
ZIP archives upload as a single file, including full folder structures
WebP and JFIF images upload alongside JPG and PNG, including images saved from a browser
M4V videos upload like MP4 files
Brand typefaces are stored next to the visual assets they belong to
Restored selections in Sharelinks
Sharelinks restore a client's most recent selection when the client returns with the same email address. Selected images load from that selection instead of a new, empty one.
Identification is optional when a Sharelink opens. moodcase asks for the email address at the first action that belongs to a client: a selection, a star rating or a colour label.
Favourites and project archive
Projects can be marked as favourites with the star icon. Favourite projects are pinned for faster access.
Projects that are no longer active can be moved to the archive. Archived projects can be restored at any time.
Lightroom Classic plug-in 2.2.0.0
The Lightroom Classic plug-in connects through updated backend endpoints as of version 2.2.0.0. To stay connected, install version 2.2.0.0 under Settings → Integrations and reload the plug-in.
Image licensing
Available on Team plans. Image licensing stores licence terms as structured records, with a licence assigned per image and a licence filter in search.
Default licences are created automatically for each user and team. Introduced in Q1 2026.
AI tagging
Available on Team plans. AI tagging generates keyword tags on upload, with tags editable per image and usable in search and filters. Tags can be translated into other languages.
Introduced in Q1 2026.
